Five Tricks for Trade Shows
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013Taking Action On Your Website
Friday, March 8th, 2013
Some of you may be familiar with keynote speaker Erik Wahl, whether it be from seeing him live, or from hearing me talk about my story and how his keynote impacted my life.
In brief, for those that don’t know, Erik Wahl is a keynote and motivational speaker that I had the pleasure of seeing perform in May of 2011 for our client GVNA Healthcare. Erik paints art as part of his keynote, not just art, but fantastic art, and he does it in a way that is incredibly moving. Erik isn’t just an artist, he is a performer, and certainly a motivator. Erik’s message is very direct… Step out of your comfort zone, or as he calls it, UNTHINK. His company is called The Art Of Vision and he talks about seeing the vision that 97% of the population doesn’t see – to look at things so differently that you set yourself apart from your competition. The Power of Testimonials
Thursday, January 17th, 2013
What better way to communicate to your audience that you do your job well than straight out of the mouths of the people who have already experienced it? Testimonials are advertising gold. Sometimes you can be surprised by the things your satisfied customers will say because you would never have thought they would notice such attention to detail or appreciate such small things. You have to keep in mind that your customers are probably not as experienced in the industry as you are, and their perspective is definitely very different than your perspective. Therefore, it stands to reason that their honest opinion of your work may resonate with other potential customers better than your polished and commercial take on the same situation. (more…)
Website Marketing Budget
Wednesday, October 24th, 2012
What is your website marketing budget? The typical response I get to that question is “HUH?” So I often repeat the question. Many people still have no idea what I mean nor have they ever thought about it. Website marketing and maintenance have evolved over the past few years. It used to be that you didn’t have to market your website much at all, but no more. Now, the first thing I tell clients is that building the website is the first step in a long process of building an effective website. You cannot just stop the process after the first step. You need to complete the entire process, as you would with any project. (more…)
The Pez Dispenser
Monday, October 22nd, 2012Are you a Pez Dispenser? I hope not! I am sure you have met the Networking Pez Dispenser, haven’t you? This is the business networker that just doesn’t get it! They meet you and within 3 seconds they have their card in their hand ready to give it to you. But wait… I don’t want it!!! I am not interested in your card! I am interested in you! Furthermore, I want you to be interested in me! Nothing more! A business card is a tool to exchange contact information for people that may want to contact another person. If you don’t know that I want to contact you, or that I may want to, then why would you give me your card? (more…)
The Chamber: Making It Work For You
Tuesday, April 24th, 2012
I meet many people throughout many different networking events, some of which are members of their local chambers and some not. What I have found to be very effective for me is to participate. Yeah I know, you have heard that before, and it sounds so lame, but it’s true. The more active you are, the more others will recognize not only who you are, but what you and your company do. Like anything else, though, results will come over time and won’t happen right away. So how do you make sure that you get results? (more…)
